An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a type of software used by many employers to comb through résumés. This process is completed by searching for key words relating to the vacant position. This technology is a very common method utilized to assist Selecting Officials with evaluating candidates.

Companies with a larger scale of applicants often favor this tool because it filters submissions by sorting hundreds of résumés for the selected criteria. By studying the job posting, you can learn some of the relevant terms that may help your résumé get selected by the ATS. When doing so, remember not to copy and paste!
